What data do we collect automatically and why?
When you visit http://www.sascsports.org/ and you have not otherwise identified yourself, our website server automatically recognizes your domain name, but not your email address. We collect the domain name and monitor general website use and traffic patterns to improve our website.
What information do you have about me?
To provide services and products and to help meet your needs, we collect personally identifiable information (PII) about you from various sources. Examples of PII include names, email addresses, mailing addresses, medical/health information, and the like. We get PII from your requests for our services and products, such as via registration forms. We also get PII from your transaction experiences with us, such as registration payments by check. Please note that we do not consider aggregated information, from which PII has been removed, to be private.
How do you safeguard information about me?
We take a number of steps to protect the privacy of information about you. Some examples include:
• We keep information under physical, electronic, or procedural controls.
• We authorize our members, agents, and contractors to get information about you only when they need it to do their work for us.
We do not treat your general interaction with SASC (e.g., submission of suggestions) as confidential. Note that most internet browsers also offer security alerts that permit you to determine whether your transmissions are protected.
When would we disclose your information?
We do disclose PII for those receiving King County Paul Robeson awards. Otherwise, we do not rent, sell, or trade any PII about you (e.g., email addresses) to third parties. SASC may disclose information to third parties assisting us in processing a transaction requested by you. In order to cooperate with legitimate governmental requests, subpoenas, or court orders, to protect SASC and/or SASC’s systems and customers, to ensure the integrity and operation of SASC and/or SASC’s business and systems, or with your consent, SASC may access and disclose any information it considers necessary or appropriate under the circumstances.
What about children’s privacy?
SASC asks children under 13 not to transmit any information to the website. SASC welcomes the parent or guardian of a child under the age of 13 to use the website and provide any information, service, or product gained from the website to their child.
How can I make sure my information is accurate?
Keeping your information accurate and up to date is very important. If your information is incomplete, inaccurate, or not current, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. We will promptly update or correct any erroneous information. Please contact us if you have questions or feel that we have not handled information about you properly.
What if data is transmitted internationally?
If you are one of our international guests, we realize that you may want to know whether your personal information will be transferred out of your country of origin. Please be aware that when you register or request a transaction on a SASC website, your personal data may be transferred to computers in the United States in order to process your request.
What about external links?
For the convenience of our website visitors, SASC may provide links to third party websites that are external to SASC. These websites are not operated or controlled by SASC, and SASC is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such external websites.
