November Update

Hope everyone is doing well and the kids enjoyed their Halloween zoom parties. Without trick-or-treating, now I don’t have to feel guilty about throwing out the unwanted tootsie rolls.  That’s the good news.

The bad news is that local COVID numbers are on the rise again.  As such, our basketball season is on hold. We will continue to keep registration open so we can gauge interest and be able to quickly re-start when we get the green light from Seattle Parks and Recreation (https://www.sascsports.org/registration).  Last we knew, we needed to be in Phase 3 or 4 for SPAR to consider holding a season.

It is crazy to think that under pre-covid circumstances we would have already kicked off our season.  We miss everyone.  While in this holding pattern, we want to encourage our players to remain active and engaged in basketball.

While SASC in-person basketball is on hold, there are other organizations around the community that are having practices.  Other basketball programs with current open registrations include the following.  This is not an exhaustive list.
Boys & Girls Club https://positiveplace.org/athletics/recreational/
Skyhawks https://www.skyhawks.com/kids-sports/basketball/washington/seattle/98103/.
I9 sports https://www.i9sports.com/find-a-program/98144
Watts https://wattsbasketball.com/find-a-program/skills

Whether it’s practicing at home or with another group, do what you feel is right for your family.   Just keep on ballin’.
